The Story

That version is true. It's just not where the story begins.

It begins with a fifteen-year-old Sophia watching Oprah with her mother and quietly deciding that one day, she would build something of her own. It picks up in a college cafe — where she said yes to running the place, built a team of eight, and doubled profits 50% semester over semester. That feeling — of building something, watching people thrive inside a structure she created, seeing results compound in real time — was the feeling she spent nearly 15 years chasing inside other people's organizations.

She got very good at it. Growing social communities from 8,000 to 100,000. Building marketing departments from the ground up — infrastructure, team, and process — in organizations that had none. Launching campaigns that earned national attention and outperformed every benchmark set. Walking into organizational fog and walking out with a strategic framework, a functioning team, and a pathway forward. Her clients called her Olivia Pope. She understood why. She walked in. She found the thread. She drove growth. Every time.

She built toward The Adé Group for years before the name existed. When she finally stepped fully into it, it was less a decision than a recognition. Part of her Yoruba name is Adé and means crown. Regalness. Honor. Elevation. She named the business that long before she could fully articulate why. Now she can.

A decades-old sub-brand within a global entertainment company needed to evolve beyond its foundational product category to remain culturally relevant and unlock new growth across content, commerce, and live experiences for its core audience.

What we did

Developed and led a multi-year omnichannel growth strategy spanning content, commerce, community, entertainment, and live experiences. Led the end-to-end launch of the brand’s first dedicated e-commerce platform — managing a complex, matrixed build from strategy through go-live.
